How and Why Having experimented with wide panning at Appleby the previous year and being able to use the image review on the D200 I decided to frame tightly whilst panning and I like the result although due to having to turn on axis while the exposure is made results in a smaller proportion of the main subject being sharp. Fortunately the sharpness of the man's face is acceptable in this image and I like the sense of movement achieved. The light background tone behind the man's face also makes his features stand out. I stopped the aperture down and also knocked down the ISO to give me a sufficiently long shutter speed to get a good amount of blur in the image. |
