Though the summer of 2008 was a wet one the show season struggled on against the elements. This photoessay shows the variety and charm of country shows through northern England and Southern Scotland.

Local agricultural and produce shows contain a tremendous variety of spectacles that fascinate me...livestock...dog breeds...and crafts from vegetable sculptures to cake making. All shown in the pursuit of the illusive accolade of "best in show".
